This role involves performing general maintenance functions in accordance with blueprints, layouts, schematics of circuits and controls, and written or verbal instructions. The position requires the ability to anticipate parts requirements, follow purchasing procedures, and acquire parts ahead of anticipated task performance. Mechanical duties include rebuilding pumps and valves, replacing bearings, belts, sheaves, chains, and sprockets, and general building maintenance. Electrical assignments may involve installing conduit and wire, installing or replacing control components, installing, testing, or replacing electric motors, and troubleshooting electric systems using drawings, schematics, and Programmable Logic Controller status. Plumbing assignments may include replacing damaged piping or piping components made of copper, stainless steel, black iron, or plastic, as well as installing plumbing pipes and auxiliary components. The role also includes performing routine inspections of equipment for reliability and performance assessment, potentially involving lubrication, parts replacement, or adjustments. Chemical analysis of water treatment systems and inspection of wastewater treatment systems are also part of the responsibilities. The position requires general knowledge and/or skills in stick and TIG welding for building or repairing plant equipment, with an aim to increase skills to conform to 3A standards. Ensuring all paperwork is completed correctly and completely, troubleshooting all plant equipment, seeking continuous improvement, safeguarding company assets, making timely decisions, anticipating problems, and demonstrating good judgment in safeguarding information are also key aspects of the role. The team member is expected to assume responsibility for plant goals and objectives, use skills to contribute to organizational success, and maintain cooperative working relationships and communications.
