About The Position

The Maintenance Team Member helps keep the assisted living community, buildings, and grounds safe, functional, clean, and well maintained. The role supports resident comfort and safety through routine maintenance, preventive upkeep, grounds care, and collaboration with community leadership. Work takes place indoors and outdoors and includes interaction with residents, staff, vendors, and community leadership. Flexibility is required to respond to maintenance needs and emergencies.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Basic knowledge of building maintenance, equipment operation, and safety practices.
Ability to work independently and follow maintenance schedules and instructions.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and change positions frequently.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push or pull equipment as needed.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Maintain buildings and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
Perform routine and minor maintenance, including painting, plumbing, electrical work, wiring, and general repairs.
Maintain furnaces, air conditioners, boilers, and water systems.
Replace air-conditioner filters and complete monthly maintenance checklists.
Assist with disaster preparedness, fire drills, and emergency readiness activities.
Notify management of major repair needs involving lighting, HVAC, plumbing, or building systems.
Remove snow, ice, debris, and hazards from sidewalks and grounds.
Oversee landscaping services and assist with lawn care, shrub trimming, and flower maintenance as needed.
Use hand tools and power tools safely and appropriately.
Follow OSHA and facility safety policies and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
Report work-related injuries within 12 hours and complete required documentation.
Participate in company drug testing procedures.
