About The Position

The Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for leading daily maintenance operations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient performance of plant equipment and facilities. This role plans and assigns maintenance work, supports production continuity, develops maintenance personnel, and drives continuous improvement through preventive maintenance, root cause analysis, and process optimization-while maintaining strict compliance with safety, quality, and food regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in maintenance or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience preferred.
  • Must complete Glanbia Team Lead Certification Program.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, including basic troubleshooting and coordination of repairs in an industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with dairy processing equipment, including pasteurizers, separators, fillers, conveyors, and CIP systems.
  • Understanding of TPM or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, blueprints, SOPs, and regulatory documentation.
  • SAP experience preferred; CMMS experience required (UpKeep).
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and decision‑making abilities.
  • Proficient in standard computer applications (email, spreadsheets, recordkeeping).
  • Regular standing, walking and use of hands and arms.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasional crouching, kneeling, climbing, or balancing.
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to loud equipment, humidity, heat, moving mechanical parts, and potential electrical hazards.
  • Minimal travel (up to 10%), including occasional overnight travel.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and develop maintenance mechanics to ensure skill proficiency, accountability, and safe work practices.
  • Schedule and coordinate maintenance staffing and shift coverage.
  • Conduct employee meetings, performance development (PDP) reviews, and provide ongoing feedback, including attendance and disciplinary actions as required.
  • Promote professionalism in communication, behaviors, and workplace interactions.
  • Assist with employee relations and issue resolution in partnership with management and HR.
  • Plan, schedule, and assign all maintenance work, including daily, monthly, semiannual, and annual equipment rebuilds.
  • Maintain, service, and troubleshoot production equipment, utilities, and facility systems.
  • Create, manage, and continuously improve preventive maintenance (PM) programs.
  • Coordinate facility upgrades, capital improvements, and utility outages with cross‑functional teams.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are performed within budget parameters.
  • Ensure after‑hours response and leadership during plant outages and emergency situations.
  • Lead equipment downtime investigations, including Breakdown Analysis (BDA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Develop and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and plant performance.
  • Support TPM and continuous improvement initiatives, driving zero-loss behaviors.
  • Ensure operators and maintenance personnel are trained in troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Support plant productivity, quality, and safety performance objectives.
  • Uphold and actively promote plant safety programs and OSHA compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety and regulatory requirements, including SQF, FDA, and Pasteurized Milk Ordinance (PMO).
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with SOPs, safety procedures, and maintenance standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, manuals, work instructions, parts inventories, and documentation.
  • Manage work orders through the UpKeep maintenance management system, including creation, completion, and closure.
  • Participate in daily plant reviews, changeovers, and required staff meetings.
  • Report maintenance performance metrics and equipment status to leadership.
  • Serve on committees and lead meetings as assigned.
