About The Position

The Maintenance Team Lead supervises daily maintenance activities across facility systems and rolling stock equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role combines hands-on technical work with team leadership to coordinate tasks, maintain equipment reliability, and support production needs. Success requires strong mechanical knowledge, leadership ability, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement. Salary range (insert amount here). Based on location and experience. Requirements

  • Hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment and facility systems.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with welding and basic fabrication techniques.
  • Understanding of small engine maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work outdoors and maintain reliable attendance.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in industrial maintenance or electromechanics preferred.
  • Trade certifications (Journeyman, Millwright, boiler, DOT/AC) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee daily work assignments for maintenance team members.
  • Provide hands-on guidance to ensure productivity and quality of completed tasks.
  • Coordinate schedules and priorities in partnership with the maintenance planner.
  • Enter and manage work orders within the maintenance system.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and ensure timely completion.
  • Address employee concerns and resolve basic issues, escalating as needed.
  • Verify proper documentation for parts requests and completed work orders.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on equipment, including rolling stock and plant systems.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on building infrastructure such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and boilers.
  • Ensure all systems and equipment are properly tested before returning to operation.
  • Promote safety, enforce standards, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
