About The Position

The Maintenance Team Lead will be responsible for performing tasks required to maintain industrial equipment and the facility at an optimal level of operation. This role emphasizes mechanical power transmission, hydraulics and pneumatics, welding and fabricating, pipe fitting, and construction trades. Experience with industrial controls, 480-volt 3 phase electrical feeders, machining, robotics, and CNC is a plus. The position involves working on various equipment including mechanical and hydraulic presses, furnaces, grinders, steel preparation and coating equipment, gear shapers, robotics, CNC machining centers, laser cutters, dust and fume collection equipment, and HVAC equipment. The role requires competent troubleshooting skills in PLC programming, servo systems, industrial controls, motor controls, and electric circuits, along with thorough knowledge of industrial automation networks, safety devices, and electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic systems. A basic understanding of CAD (AutoCAD) is also needed. The individual must be a motivated self-starter capable of working independently and within a cross-functional team, possessing strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical power transmission, hydraulics and pneumatics, welding and fabricating, pipe fitting, and construction trades.
  • Competent troubleshooting skills in PLC programming, servo systems, industrial controls, motor controls, and electric circuits.
  • Thorough knowledge and/or experience in industrial automation networks, safety devices, and electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
  • Basic understanding of CAD (AutoCAD).
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and/or in a cross-functional work team environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks required to maintain industrial equipment and facility at an optimal level of operation.
  • Troubleshoot PLC programming, servo systems, industrial controls, motor controls, and electric circuits.
  • Work with industrial automation networks, safety devices, and electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
  • Maintain mechanical power transmission, hydraulics and pneumatics, welding and fabricating, pipe fitting, and construction trades.
  • Work on mechanical and hydraulic presses, furnaces, grinders, steel preparation and coating equipment, gear shapers, robotics, CNC machining centers, laser cutters, dust and fume collection equipment, and HVAC equipment.
  • Follow the daily Leadership Standard work format to maintain consistency between shifts.
  • Facilitate both written and verbal communications at shift change to ensure a smooth transition between shifts.
  • Respond to machine breakdowns and work independently or as part of a group to troubleshoot and repair existing equipment and facility systems.
  • Identify root cause of equipment failures and suggest preventive actions.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities following written instructions.
  • Work with engineering to upgrade existing equipment for enhanced safety, functionality, and/or reliability.
  • Work on machine rebuild projects.
  • Support the installation of new equipment or rearrangement of existing equipment, including running utilities, working with trucking and rigging contractors, positioning equipment, leveling equipment, and pre-startup safety checks.
  • Operate band saws, drill presses, bench grinders, and MIG welders to design and fabricate items.
  • Identify and order machine components and materials required to complete jobs.
  • Accurately estimate time required to complete jobs.
  • Interface with the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to retrieve work orders, issue parts, and record closing information.
  • Carry out cleaning activities, including floor sweeping and scrubbing, trash removal, and collection of waste oil and water.
  • Support the Carlisle Operating System (lean manufacturing) with an emphasis on improving the Total Productive Maintenance initiative.
  • Drive 5S results within their respective teams.
  • Verify CMMS work is completed prior to turnover.
  • Follow up with technicians to ensure work meets Carlisle standards for Safety, Environmental, and Reliability of assets.
  • Maintain a professional atmosphere.
