About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining all equipment on site, working with other maintenance personnel, assisting in the assembly and disassembly of temporary exhibits, and responding to all maintenance emergency situations. The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives. The incumbent is expected to exercise sound, reasonable judgment and initiative, and give high priority to accuracy and details in the performance of job responsibilities. This job requires the individual to visually inspect and detect items needing repair and requires a considerable knowledge of a wide variety of maintenance trades. Basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry and mechanical experience is used frequently on the job. Performing duties requires experience in using basic hand and power tools. The role also involves maintaining inventory of supplies and reporting major repairs to the manager.

Requirements

A self-motivated, mechanically inclined person with some hands-on experience of electrical, and HVAC systems.
Must be self-reliant and responsible.
Any combination of experience, or training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Must have good mechanical abilities.
Must have good oral and written communication skills.
Must be able to work inside or outside as required.
Must be emotionally mature, have a cooperative attitude and be in good physical health.
Basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry and mechanical experience is used frequently on the job.
Experience in using basic hand and power tools.
Knowledge of all maintenance trades, including basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry.
Basic mechanical aptitude for operation and repair of facility.
Skill in the use of related tools.

Responsibilities

Maintain all equipment on site.
Work with other maintenance personnel when called upon.
Assist as needed in assembly and disassembly of temporary exhibits.
Respond to all maintenance emergency situations.
Performing Preventative Maintenance on HVAC systems, Pumps, Air Compressors.
Keep detailed records in English for logs and inspection sheets.
Complete all tasks deemed necessary by the Chief Engineer.
Inspect public spaces, and back of the house areas to repair, touch up, or replace light bulbs, lamps, switches, outlets, faucets, toilets, hardware, filters, paint, furniture, wall coverings, caulking, grouting or other miscellaneous repairs.
Maintain inventory of supplies as needed to perform all job functions.
Report major repairs and items which cannot be repaired to the manager for further action.
Any and all other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody Gardens.
