About The Position

The Student Program at Nexteer Automotive offers high-potential students meaningful opportunities to apply classroom learning in a professional environment while gaining hands-on experience and valuable industry exposure. The Maintenance Support student provides critical administrative, logistical, and analytical support to the Maintenance Department. This role ensures the smooth flow of maintenance activities by handling data entry, preparing departmental documents, supporting team meetings, and facilitating the movement of components and materials. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• Attending a 2-year college or 4-year university local to Saginaw
• Pursuing a Bachelors in Mechanical, Facilities or Industrial Engineering
• Able to work 20-32 hours during Fall and Winter semesters, up to 40 in the summer
• Cumulative 2.7 GPA on 4.0 scale
• Full-time student (12 or more credits) during Fall and Winter semesters
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively across departments.
• Basic analytical ability with a willingness to learn maintenance-based data tools.
• Valid driver’s license (for picking up parts from suppliers, if applicable).
• Ability to lift, carry, and move components or materials as required.
• Right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship
