Maintenance Supervisor
About The Position
The Maintenance Supervisor oversees the maintenance of buildings and property along with the mechanical systems within the building. More specifically, he/she controls the installation, repair and upkeep of the property along with directing the maintenance staff. Maintaining a professional environment that fosters team spirit is important. The Maintenance Manager directs employees for this department in safely implementing operational procedures and providing the necessary tools for the tasks required. He/She ensures the accurate and timely preparation of reports regarding facility operations and works to enhance the performance of the position, team and company.
Requirements
- Possesses knowledge of engineering concepts: electrical, hydraulic and mechanical
- Has the ability to interpret blueprints, specifications and schematics
- Has ability to direct maintenance staff concerning any projects that need assembly, installation and or repair
- Possesses a minimum of 2 years of work-related experience in facility management
- Comprehends and follows written and oral instructions
- Possesses good practical and technical skills and has the ability to work quickly and under pressure
- Has good problem-solving skills and and is able to manage a varied workload.
- Is capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. repetitively
Responsibilities
- Prepares monthly and quarterly work orders (preventative maintenance)
- Maintains clean motors, heater elements and repairs air hoses
- Services and or repairs forklifts
- Sees to upkeep of company vehicles
- Cares for facility equipment, tools, building and property including any roof repairs, etc
- Assumes responsibilities for any lost or misplaced tools
- Prepares monthly and quarterly work orders (preventative maintenance)
- Implements quality standards along with safety policies and procedures for the department
- Organizes and posts workload to "Kanban" board daily, for loading orders, repair of pumps, gas, plumbing, welding and fabrication work
- Disposes of liquid and solid waste generated by facility yard
- Informs Lab Manager of the disposal
