The Maintenance Supervisor provides leadership to ensure all company safety rules and regulations in accordance with the Mine Health & Safety Act are observed by employees. This includes planning the necessary resources in manpower and budgeting to accomplish site safety goals in the PaSSE and SHARP plans, and monitoring the safety program and its effectiveness to ensure a safe workplace. The role involves participating in appropriate safety training, interfacing with MSHA and other governing health and safety agencies, and following up on investigations. The supervisor will coordinate and monitor the activities of all maintenance employees, ensure preventative action is taken to avoid nonconformities, and oversee accurate and timely reporting of maintenance work orders. They will recommend and implement solutions to problems, provide technical and tactical support to maximize kiln efficiency and minimize downtime, and participate in identifying training needs for maintenance personnel. The supervisor is responsible for executing the daily maintenance plan to meet production needs while maintaining efficient costs, monitoring key performance indicators, and preparing/implementing training plans. They will ensure the Management System is effective, participate in daily production and maintenance meetings, and have a good understanding of CMMS/SAP maintenance modules. The role requires ensuring personnel perform quality work and providing feedback on performance.
