About The Position

Venture Metals + is growing and we are adding a Maintenance Supervisor to our team of professionals. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the planning and execution of all maintenance tasks necessary to ensure reliable operation of all equipment at the Dallas, TX headquarters and two satellite facilities. This includes ensuring the completion of planned maintenance, completion of reactive maintenance, and implementing predictive maintenance. This position is responsible for leading a small local team of maintenance professionals to ensure the success of the operations division, and the company.

Requirements

  • Experience running maintenance systems such as: CMMS, critical spare parts, KPIs.
  • 4+ years of experience in maintenance leadership managing technicians and staff and prioritizing maintenance tasks.
  • 6+ years of experience in large complex equipment used in one or more of the following: scrap metal processing, manufacturing, agriculture, heavy equipment.
  • Balancing short term and long-term operational needs.
  • Verifiable experience in troubleshooting, hydraulics, industrial mechanical and medium low voltage electrical issues.
  • Experienced in developing and maintaining a highly safety focused work environment.
  • Ability in working well in a team, no silo effect or division between operations and maintenance.
  • Associate’s in industrial maintenance or accredited trade school Industrial Electrical or Mechanical certification – a plus or comparable work experience

  • Scrap metal/manufacturing/heavy equipment: 6 years (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Schedule planned maintenance through cooperation with the operations team. Conduct related administrative tasks as necessary. Prioritize and assign tasks to maintenance team members, conduct safety briefings before projects, perform after action reviews following projects.
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and related repairs on mobile and stationary engine driven equipment. Safely lead and train other team members while conducting these tasks.
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and related repairs on stationary electrically driven equipment.
  • Conduct reactive maintenance tasks, troubleshooting, and repairs when equipment failures occur.
  • Perform repairs and inspections on buildings and non-equipment assets. May include Minor construction tasks, electrical repairs or installations, plumbing repairs, HVAC inspections and repairs, etc.
  • Identify, source, and order parts required for repairs. This will be through established or new vendors, or through collaboration with other VM locations.
  • Perform administrative duties related to personnel, including review and approval of timesheets, employee reviews, and employee coaching. As needed, conduct interviews of additional maintenance staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
