The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for directly supervising and coordinating the work activities of the Controls shop staff, maintaining Building Automation Systems (BAS), and preparing work schedules. This role involves planning and accomplishing goals, performing complex tasks, and exercising creativity and leadership. The supervisor will monitor staff performance, counsel employees, and recommend personnel actions. Additionally, the role involves troubleshooting BAS programming and communication issues, performing system integrations, maintaining HVAC equipment for energy savings, and managing remote alarm paging. The supervisor will also review and commission new construction and renovation projects, maintain documentation, administer BAS users, and back up system databases. Responsibilities include writing control sequences and drawings, responding to BAS alarms and work orders, examining BAS facilities, and performing installations, repairs, and calibrations. The role also entails overseeing operations at remote research sites, meeting with vendors, operating UF vehicles, initiating requisitions, coordinating material flow, and participating in budget preparation. The supervisor must ensure safety practices are followed by staff and contractors and maintain the care of vehicles, tools, and equipment. On-call work is required.
