The Maintenance Supervisor will supervise a shift or team of maintenance hourly technicians. This role manages the maintenance budget for the facility, including running and reviewing SAP reports and maintaining a spreadsheet of YTD expenditures. The supervisor utilizes systems like KIWI and SAP to track key maintenance performance measures such as mechanical/electrical downtime, maintenance reliability indices, and maintenance breakdowns. They manage the work order system, tracking work orders through completion, and compile reports on work order efficiency for the leadership team. A weekly maintenance priority meeting is conducted with maintenance and production leadership to review open notifications and work order backlogs, planning and prioritizing projects for the upcoming week. The role is responsible for planning maintenance projects, including scheduling personnel (employees and contractors), maintaining project budgets, accessing machine manuals, ensuring parts are in inventory, and coordinating with the production team. The supervisor works with the local leadership team to schedule predictive/preventative maintenance activities and leads Environmental Health & Safety initiatives, including air permitting, storm water compliance, HAZMAT, waste water compliance, roof maintenance, Infared inspections, compressed air management, cooling tower/chiller, air handlers, fire & safety system inspections, contractor training, employee training, electrical, and hot work. Inventory and parts management for the facility’s store-room, including SAP system maintenance, ensuring proper inventory levels, store-room organization, and kitting for projects, is also a key responsibility. The supervisor assists leadership in the development and management of capital projects and their implementation. They manage and maintain a site-wide parts and tool inventory and coordinate routine service contractors. Material needs for repairs are determined, options are researched, pricing is obtained, requisitions are created in SAP, and materials are received in SAP upon invoice receipt. Purchasing, inventory, and work order administration activities of the Maintenance Department are coordinated. Local material sourcing and purchasing using a P-card, maintaining purchase records, and reconciling the P-card according to corporate requirements are also part of the role. All maintenance materials and services are inspected upon delivery. The supervisor assists in ensuring proper plant receiving procedures are followed. Equipment repair, building repair, or project costs are tracked using SAP or other methods and reported to management. In consultation with the respective manager, current site maintenance personnel are utilized for work before sourcing external contract services, potentially using all site maintenance resources. Support is provided in safety, maintenance, building security, housekeeping, grounds keeping, cost effectiveness, and continuous improvement. High maintenance cost centers are analyzed, and solutions are implemented to reduce costs. Vendors are worked with to consolidate purchases for cost savings. Work to be contracted out may be managed by planning tasks, developing a scope of work, and contacting contractors for quotations. After bid review and acceptance, SAP is used to create a requisition, and service entries are released upon completion of work and receipt of invoices. Routine Maintenance Tasks & Preventative Maintenance Events are planned. Catalogues, bulletins, technical information, drawings, blueprints, machine manuals, vendor catalogues, and other required information are maintained in the Maintenance Office library. Other duties as assigned by the manager.
