About The Position

This position is for 3rd shift and is located in our Yadkinville, NC Facility. The Maintenance Supervisor provides the necessary maintenance support for the facilities, packaging equipment, power, refrigeration, and landscaping at the Yadkinville, NC plant. Essential Duties include supervising all maintenance and capital projects, staffing and scheduling the maintenance department, maintaining a positive labor relations environment, analyzing production processes, recommending and implementing improvements, providing monthly performance summaries, maintaining a cost-effective preventive maintenance program, and ensuring compliance with all safety and Good Manufacturing Practice policies and procedures. The role also involves ongoing training, reporting food safety and quality problems, enforcing GMP rules, identifying and communicating food safety issues, and leading food safety initiatives.

Requirements

  • Six years of experience in engineering and maintenance.
  • Four years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience in consumer food products and food packaging.
  • Apprenticeship in one of more maintenance areas.
  • Functional experience in the use of Word and Excel.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to negotiate with vendors.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Ability to use analytical skills to determine the correct course of action.
  • Ability to manage several projects at the same time and be able to learn new projects quickly.
  • Ability to communicate via speaking, listening, and visual means.
  • Ability to give verbal direction and negotiate.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of JD Edwards is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all maintenance and capital projects at the Yadkinville Plant.
  • Staff, schedule the maintenance department as appropriate, and ensure its effectiveness through training.
  • Maintain a positive labor relations environment with subordinate personnel.
  • Analyze production processes and methods.
  • Recommend and implement changes and new programs that improve costs.
  • Provide monthly summaries to the management of maintenance performance and capital project updates.
  • Maintain a cost-effective preventive maintenance program.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and Good Manufacturing Practice policies and procedures in areas of own responsibility.
  • Provide ongoing training and enforcement as appropriate.
  • Responsible for reporting any food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
  • Enforce GMP rules and guidelines.
  • Identify and communicate food safety issues; lead and influence food safety initiatives.
