We are looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our team in Greenville, OH. At BASF, we create chemistry through the power of connected minds. The maintenance supervisor has responsibility for the maintenance department at the Greenville, Ohio site. This role ensures maintenance work is completed safely, correctly, and timely to support 24/7 production assets. The supervisor oversees about 8 hourly maintenance and I&E personnel. This role reports to the maintenance & engineering manager. Maintenance is critical to the site meeting business and financial obligations. In addition, the maintenance supervisor is part of the extended leadership team, along with supervisors from the other site departments.

Requirements

  • High school graduate
  • Experience in a mature maintenance organization
  • Solid knowledge of and troubleshooting experience in pumps, valves, heat exchangers, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of instrumentation and electrical systems
  • Effective communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous leadership experience is a plus
  • SAP maintenance module knowledge is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead site maintenance, including daily execution and participation in longer-term strategies.
  • Execute maintenance goals and objectives, monitor performance against those objectives, hold the team accountable to the goals and KPI’s, and coach/manage personnel performance accordingly.
  • Identify and execute improvement opportunities in maintenance workflow and execution to improve safety, cost, and efficiency.
  • Reduce waste and drive continuous improvement in the maintenance department.
  • Provide troubleshooting support when needed by crafts or operations.
  • Exhibit good decision-making that supports business needs and maintains a safe culture.
  • Develop and cultivate good working relationships with supervisors in other departments.
  • Ensure a customer-focused approach to supporting a 24/7 production site.
