About The Position

The 2nd Street Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing maintenance staff on the second shift. This role requires strong leadership to manage a small team, ensure cost-effective practices compliant with quality standards, and plan shift operations efficiently. The supervisor will assign tasks, provide instruction on proper procedures, and ensure a safe working environment. A key aspect of the role is ensuring all personnel are well-trained on processes, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and HACCP programs, and possess strong communication skills for inter-departmental collaboration. The position also involves working with Quality Assurance and USDA, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. A strong understanding of electronics, motors, machinery, scales, freezers, and other maintenance-related equipment is essential. The supervisor will report to the maintenance manager as needed.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics, motors, machinery, scales, freezers, among other maintenance related parts and equipment.
  • Ability to communicate to other departments.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise maintenance staff on shift.
  • Act as a strong leader for a small group of people.
  • Maintain cost-effective practices compliant with quality, policies, and procedures.
  • Plan and schedule shift needs, utilizing employees, equipment, and materials for quality products.
  • Assign maintenance employees to jobs and instruct them in proper procedures for quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Ensure plant safety by overseeing general working conditions.
  • Ensure all personnel are properly trained and understand their processes.
  • Ensure all personnel have a full understanding of plant Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP programs.
  • Ensure all personnel have good communication skills and can communicate with other departments.
  • Work with Quality Assurance and USDA.
  • Ensure all personnel support continuous improvement initiatives.
