About The Position

Birgo is a mission-driven real estate company on a mission to improve the lives of our residents and enhance the communities we serve. To do that, we need a maintenance supervisor who can balance completing work, managing logistics, and leading a maintenance team. This role will oversee maintenance operations across multiple apartment communities, including Greensburg (4 communities, 198 units) and New Kensington (1 community, 97 units). The schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with an on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Active driver’s license and reliable vehicle with registration and insurance
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds without assistance
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces as well as ascend and descend ladders and staircases
  • Expertise in plumbing and electrical
  • 5+ years experience in multifamily maintenance
  • 3+ years experience as a supervisor
  • Experience managing multi-site portfolios
  • In-depth understanding of maintenance-related fields such as apartment renovations and vendor coordination

Responsibilities

  • Lead aspects of people management for a team of two maintenance techs, including hiring, training, career development, and conflict resolution
  • Manage turnovers, work orders, inventory, and groundskeeping
  • Operate in a paperless environment by processing work orders through mobile devices and apps such as AppFolio
  • Set safety expectations for the team and adhere to company safety standards
  • Complete high-skilled work (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, etc.) to lower vendor costs
  • Monitor expenditures and adhere to budget
  • Source and coordinate external contractors, vendors, and suppliers as necessary
  • Support renovations, preventative maintenance, and construction projects as needed
  • Serve as the liaison between property management and maintenance teams
  • Manage on-call rotation
  • Other duties as assigned to help Birgo improve lives through real estate
