About The Position

The Buildings & Grounds Supervisor is responsible for supervising a team of Maintenance Technicians to complete routine maintenance and repair projects in a team environment for Peek ‘n Peak Resort. This includes, but is not limited to, electrical systems, heating and air conditioning, plumbing, carpentry, painting, commercial equipment repair, pool operations, fire safety systems, and snow/trash removal.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of tools and equipment used for comprehensive building maintenance services.
  • Plumbing skills, including soldering/brazing tubes and fittings, unplugging toilets/drains, replacing bath/toilet fixtures, and repairing faucets, garbage disposals, home appliances, and hot water tanks.
  • Construction experience with drywall and painting to repair walls or ceilings with guest/water damage and to fabricate furniture, walls, floors, cabinetry, or shelves.
  • Proficiency in electrical work to replace/repair outlets, wall switches, light fixtures, ceiling fans, home appliances, furnaces, and air conditioning units.
  • Attention to detail necessary to perform repetitive tasks with a focus on quality standards.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a busy environment, often in inclement weather.
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate the team towards common goals with a focus on safety in the absence of supervision.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, both orally and in writing, with the ability to understand and follow both oral and written directions.
  • Valid driver’s license with an approved driving record authorized through the company’s insurance provider is required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and provide leadership to the Maintenance Technicians to ensure efficient and accurate completion of maintenance requests and projects within the established timeframes as assigned by the Facilities Manager and/or Mountain Operations Director.
  • Review completed electronic/hard copy maintenance logs daily to document project status, daily activities, and communicate relevant information to management, departments, or across work shifts.
  • Provide leadership when performing a wide variety of preventative, routine, and emergency maintenance tasks at Resort Hotel and Restaurant Facilities, including, but not limited to, electrical, heating, air conditioning, plumbing, carpentry, painting, commercial equipment repair, pool operations, fire safety systems, and snow/trash removal.
  • Deliver efficient and friendly service by communicating with management, co-workers, and guests at all levels.
  • Inspect, operate, and test equipment to diagnose problems, provide solutions, and perform necessary repairs.
  • Dismantle equipment or devices to access and remove defective parts using hand and/or power tools.
  • Repair equipment, devices, or structures using tools, including hammers, screwdrivers, saws, drills, wrenches, precision measuring instruments, and electronic testing devices.
  • Assist project managers with transporting, securing materials, and completing tasks to complete assigned work in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Operate equipment to perform snow and trash removal tasks as assigned, ensuring a safe environment, preventing damage or injury, and limiting liability exposure.
  • Perform pump, motor, and chemical balancing of the swimming pool; some technicians may be required to obtain certifications for in-depth operations and chemical adjustments.
  • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, tools, and other supplies in good working condition, reporting any maintenance, damage, or safety concerns to management immediately.
  • Develop a working knowledge of operations and equipment in each facility to expedite maintenance completion.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
