About The Position

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Responsible for providing effective leadership, support and solutions for a wide variety of new or existing process equipment that is used to manufacture 3M products. Maintenance and overall reliability for the entire site operations with a goal of continuously driving improvements while increasing overall throughput. Provide leadership and management for the 3M Tonawanda Plant Engineering maintenance organization, including equipment maintenance, reliability and uptime, utilities operations, stockroom, buildings and grounds and coordination of maintenance contractors. Foster teamwork within plant engineering and across other staff groups to prevent breakdowns, reduce cycle time, increase runtime, minimize waste, conserve energy, continually improve the quality of operations, and control costs. Assure compliance with company policies, government and regulatory agency laws, regulations, and codes. Ability to work 2nd or 3rd Shift.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
  • Three (3) years of team lead and/or supervisory experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) years or more of maintenance experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science discipline from an accredited university.
  • Five (5) years combined engineering process, technology or manufacturing experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Works well on cross-functional teams in a continuous improvement (LEAN) environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
