Requirements

  • High school graduation or G.E.D. required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Experience in functions to be supervised is essential, whether gained from employment or practical training.
  • Experience in which potential administrative and supervisory competence has been demonstrated is required.
  • Class B license may be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Special courses in housekeeping institutional management are desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises, coordinates activities of, and works with cleaning personnel engaged in housekeeping/maintenance activities to maintain clinic, residential, and business office environments in a sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition.
  • Directs and coordinates department operations.
  • Interviews, trains, supervisors, schedules, and evaluates staff to assure the maintenance and cleaning of all facilities.
  • Leads and performs the following duties as required: light maintenance, minor repairs, cleaning, wet-washes, and vacuuming of floors.
  • Inspects facilities and directs the performance as well as does safety checks of residential facilities.
  • Conducts inspections of wet pipe sprinkler systems.
  • Performs regular vehicle checks, daily residential grounds checks, and ensures grounds are clear and free of debris.
  • Oversees and assists with disinfecting areas by scrubbing or spraying as needed. Follows infection control guidelines.
  • Repairs any mechanical failures or negative conditions.
  • Repairs company vehicles.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment.
