About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor will supervise a shift or team of maintenance hourly technicians and may fill in for the Maintenance Manager to oversee the entire facility maintenance department. This role involves managing the maintenance budget, tracking key performance measures, and overseeing the work order system. The supervisor will also plan and schedule maintenance projects, coordinate with production teams, and lead environmental health & safety initiatives under the direction of the Maintenance Manager. Additionally, the role is responsible for inventory management of the store-room, assisting with capital projects, and managing routine service contractors.

Requirements

  • Four years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Four years’ experience in the corrugated box industry with heavy experience in electronics preferred.
  • Mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electricity experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a shift or team of maintenance hourly technicians.
  • Fill in for the maintenance manager as needed to manage the entire facility maintenance department.
  • Manage the maintenance budget for the facility, including running and reviewing SAP reports and maintaining a spreadsheet of YTD expenditures.
  • Utilize systems, including KIWI and SAP, to track maintenance key performance measures.
  • Manage the work order system and track work orders through completion.
  • Compile a report related to work order efficiency for the leadership team.
  • Conduct a weekly maintenance priority meeting with the maintenance and production leadership team.
  • Plan maintenance projects, including scheduling of personnel, maintaining project budget, accessing machine manuals, ensuring parts are in inventory, and working with the production team.
  • Schedule predictive/preventative maintenance activities in conjunction with the Maintenance Manager and local leadership team.
  • Lead Environmental Health & Safety initiatives under the direction of the Maintenance Manager.
  • Manage and maintain the inventory/parts management of the facility’s store-room.
  • Assist Maintenance Manager in the development and management of capital projects.
  • Manage and maintain a single, site-wide parts and tool inventory.
  • Coordinate and manage routine service contractors.
  • Determine material needs for repairs, research options, obtain pricing, and utilize the SAP system to create requisitions.
  • Coordinate purchasing, inventory, and work order administration activities of the Maintenance Department.
  • Source material locally and purchase needed material using a Pcard, maintain purchase records, and reconcile the P-card.
  • Inspect all maintenance materials and services upon delivery.
  • Assist in ensuring proper plant receiving procedures are followed.
  • Track equipment repair, building repair, or project costs using the SAP system and report to management.
  • Utilize current site maintenance personnel to perform work before sourcing external contract services.
  • Analyze high maintenance cost centers and implement solutions to reduce and improve costs.
  • Work with vendors to consolidate purchases where cost savings can be derived.
  • Manage work to be contracted out by planning tasks, developing a scope of work, and contacting contractors for quotations.
  • Plan Routine Maintenance Tasks & Preventative Maintenance Events.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly fashion for all catalogues, bulletins and technical information in the Maintenance Office.
