About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for managing the Maintenance Department while providing support to operations and the maintenance of equipment. He/she works to develop and maintain a diversified skilled staff and ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and engineering requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and completion of Mechanical or electrical maintenance certification, apprenticeship or relevant program of study at a technical or trade school
  • 5 to 10 years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician, Electrician or other relevant experience
  • Progressive responsibility or experience in leadership roles
  • Experience with standard manufacturing equipment and maintenance systems
  • SAP Software usage
  • Preventative maintenance program software

Nice To Haves

  • High level of proficiency and working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
  • Proficiency in managing capital appropriation requests and project management
  • Strong root cause analysis and remediation
  • Strong communication skills and high level of experience with MS Office Suite
  • Solid understanding and demonstration of troubleshooting skills and best practices

Responsibilities

  • Creates and supports a GoalZERO culture and ensures that projects are executed in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
  • Accountable for all maintenance and related preventative/predictive programs
  • Maintain and expand the preventative maintenance program
  • Manage maintenance work order requests and delegate tasks within maintenance team. Plan and prioritizes work activities effectively and efficiently. Develops realistic action plans.
  • Maintains SAP maintenance work order system
  • Purchasing of repair, critical spare and machine components
  • Provide technical support to maintenance personnel. Investigate and resolve problems. Troubleshoot equipment issues. Perform regular general maintenance tasks as required.
  • Implement maintenance best practices and stays abreast of current industry & technology trends.
  • Establish and maintain a strong manufacturing customer focus throughout the department and in support of plant-wide operations. Interact effectively with Operations personnel to manage work priorities to meet the business needs.
  • Establish operating indicators (metrics) which measure departmental performance on a regular basis and communicate this information to the organization
  • Prepare reports to document and analyze spending, completions, progress and planning for the maintenance department
  • Representative for plant level projects and when dealing with key equipment suppliers and contractors
  • Monitors/facilitates contractor time, material, and project costs
  • Actively participate in capital planning, implementation, and new process development
  • Managing costs, budget, and planning for MRO items
  • Provide assistance and/or training in using SAP work order system
  • Manage and direct the work of Maintenance personnel. Monitors employee performance, including work quality, time utilization, and behaviors. Holds employees accountable for performance.
  • Hire, train, motivate, coach, assign work and counsel in order to achieve a diversified, highly skilled team
  • Other duties and responsibilities performed as assigned.
