About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor leads the execution of maintenance operations that ensure safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing performance. This role supervises a team of maintenance technicians while coordinating preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, equipment installations, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position partners closely with Production, Engineering, and plant leadership to maximize equipment reliability, improve operational efficiency, and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Operating with a high degree of independence, this role influences daily plant performance through effective planning, technical leadership, and employee development.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or technical certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
  • 0-2 years of progressive manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • Working knowledge of industrial maintenance practices and equipment reliability principles.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
  • Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong planning, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of 5–20 maintenance employees to achieve safety, reliability, quality, and productivity objectives.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and foster employee engagement and skill development.
  • Schedule work assignments and allocate resources to meet production and maintenance priorities.
  • Lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Coordinate emergency repairs, equipment installations, modifications, and rebuilds to support continuous manufacturing operations.
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and prioritizing maintenance activities within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Partner with Production and Engineering to identify root causes of equipment issues and implement sustainable solutions that improve operational performance.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to ensure new and existing equipment complies with company standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate contractor services and replacement parts, recommend solutions, and support procurement of maintenance materials and services.
  • Monitor the performance of major plant utility systems and lead maintenance activities that improve equipment efficiency, reliability, and operating costs.
  • Oversee fire protection system readiness and coordinate timely response to abnormal operating conditions.
  • Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives that enhance manufacturing performance and equipment effectiveness.
  • Champion a strong safety culture by implementing and enforcing safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment and maintain compliance with safe work practices.
  • Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop job safety plans, conduct field safety audits, facilitate safety meetings, and communicate updates to safety programs.
  • Serve as the designated program administrator for assigned critical safety programs, including Lockout/Tagout, Fall Protection, Confined Space, and other plant safety initiatives.
