About The Position

Performs highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and other plant equipment. Installs replacement belts, filters, gears, chains, and valves. Troubleshoots pneumatic, electric, and hydraulic machine problems and makes necessary repairs. Performs repairs to machines involving machine guarding, bolt replacement, and breakdowns due to mechanical wear. Welds machine components. Performs preventative maintenance tasks such as lubricating parts, drive chains, etc. Handles installations, including hooking up air, water, gas, and the alignment and leveling of equipment. Resolves all maintenance and mechanical problems promptly with minimal disruption to production schedules. Acts as a lead by training, mentoring, scheduling, counseling, and providing guidance to less experienced and hourly Maintenance employees. Provides leadership through effective communication and coaching. Aids and support as needed. Ensures a positive work environment exhibiting the company’s culture of respect for all employees. Motivates, corrects, and challenges personnel with a positive approach. Notifies Maintenance Manager when problems arise. Maintains open dialogue with the assigned team. When approached with feedback and concerns, resolves them in the most direct and positive way possible. Ensures all company policies are followed. Completes maintenance recordkeeping. Keeps record of all work performed. Updates maintenance history logs and completes required paperwork. Accounts for equipment used for maintenance and repairs. Understands and follows the company GMP policy. Understands and follows the company safety rules.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of DIRECTLY RELATED experience.
  • Must have experience in a food processing environment.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours/shifts as needed.
  • May be required to work long hours and weekends.
  • drug, alcohol, and background checks for all new team members post-offer and prior to the start of employment.
  • Verification of employment eligibility must be documented for all new employees by the end of the third day of work.
