About The Position

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Maintenance Supervisor leads the Fixed, Electrical and Instrumentation team across the site, ensuring safe, efficient work that meets operational standards. They oversee maintenance planning, project execution, and troubleshooting while supporting team development and performance management. This role works closely with other departments to align operational systems with site requirements. The Keno Hill mine, located within the Keno Hill Silver District in Canada’s Yukon Territory, is one of the highest-grade silver districts in the world. It comprises 242 square kilometres (km2) with numerous mineral deposits and more than 35 historical past-producing mine sites. Keno Hill is expected to produce ~3.0 million ounces of silver in 2026. The mine is owned and operated by Hecla Mining Company, headquartered in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Established in 1891, Hecla has a rich history as a distinguished and respected precious metals producer. Requirements

  • Journeyman Red Seal certification in an applicable trade is required
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience - underground mining and processing maintenance supervision
  • Significant experience working on CMMS system
  • Excellent skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Extensive and proven expertise in Electrical Code
  • Strong organization and leadership skills
  • Superior communication with peers, supervisors, and management
  • Pre-Employment Testing (drug & alcohol, blood lead, and audiogram)
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coordinate, and develop the Fixed & E&I team across the Keno Hill mine site (surface and underground)
  • Ensure that all work is performed in a manner that conforms to all site safety policies and procedures while recognizing personnel who consistently meet or exceed expectations
  • Develop audit systems for site infrastructure and corresponding preventative maintenance programs
  • Execute scheduled maintenance with a high level of schedule compliance
  • Proven ability to scope and sequence a job, quote/order materials and schedule manpower in conjunction with respective Planner
  • Develop safe work procedures and provide technical/operational input into maintenance procedures and systems
  • Assist or support during trouble shooting, find or propose solutions to solve problems
  • Schedule personnel rotations, performance reviews, administer vacation and disciplinary issue in accordance with company policies and standards
  • Assist with the planning and execution of infrastructure construction projects
  • Work closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure operational systems are aligned with site requirements
  • Communicate key activities to direct reports and senior managers
  • Other duties may be assigned.
