About The Position

The Maintenance Superintendent - 2nd Shift is responsible for driving operational efficiency and profitability by monitoring daily and weekly yields, efficiencies, and profitability, and taking corrective action as needed. This role involves managing staffing and maintenance schedules to meet customer needs and optimize resources. The Superintendent will develop and implement safety and ergonomic programs by training employees on safe work practices, identifying hazards, addressing ergonomic concerns, and aiming for an injury-free workplace. Upholding sanitation, product quality, and customer service standards to ensure compliance with USDA and company regulations is crucial. Through regular line meetings, high standards and compliance expectations will be reinforced. The role includes training supervisors and employees on company policies and procedures and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team performance and plant efficiency. Strong leadership and guidance will be provided to employees on the production floor to ensure teams stay motivated, aligned, and focused on achieving operational goals, leading by example to foster a collaborative and productive environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 3+ years’ relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience acting as a lead by providing training, coaching or mentoring to less experienced staff or through managing a process or project.
  • Food manufacturing experience.
  • Experience working with PLC’s.
  • Experience working with Ammonia Refrigeration.
  • Experience using a variety of computer applications, including time-keeping systems, SAP, and Microsoft Office programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong preference for meat, kill/harvest floor experience.
  • Bilingual speaking background highly desired.
