About The Position

We are seeking a Maintenance Specialist to join our Petrochemicals (CP) team in Freeport, TX. This role supports the Acrylics and Oxo-SynGas operating units by leading the planning, coordination, and execution of unit outages/turnarounds, washes, and other large work scopes. The Maintenance Specialist ensures all outages and washes comply with the G-P-ME 010 Outage Process, including milestone development and governance, scope definition with Operations, verification that planning, work packages, and scheduling are complete and execution-ready, coordination of cost tracking and controls, ownership of the lessons-learned process, and ensuring accountability for safe, efficient, and predictable execution. This role is also responsible for monitoring and continuously improving planning and scheduling productivity and work management effectiveness for routine tasks incorporated into these specialized events. Collaboration with Maintenance, Operations, Technology, Engineering, and Capital project teams is essential to develop an executable work scope, validate sequencing and resource requirements, and ensure adequate planning, scheduling, and resourcing. Effective communication and stakeholder alignment are critical, requiring the development and execution of a communications plan and providing status updates to various audiences.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years experience in the Petrochemical Industry.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience with maintenance outages.
  • A minimum of 2 years leading maintenance outages.
  • Knowledge in SAP and Primavera.
  • Effective communications skills.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring all outages and washes comply with the G-P-ME 010 Outage Process, including milestone development and governance; scope definition with Operations; verification that planning, work packages, and scheduling are complete and execution-ready; coordination of cost tracking and controls; ownership of the lessons-learned process; and ensuring accountability for safe, efficient, and predictable execution.
  • Monitoring and continuously improving planning and scheduling productivity and work management effectiveness for routine tasks incorporated into these specialized events.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with Maintenance, Operations, Technology, Engineering, and Capital project teams to develop an executable work scope, validate sequencing and resource requirements (labor, materials, contractors, equipment), and ensure the work is adequately planned, scheduled, and resourced to meet unit and site objectives.
  • Effectively communicating and ensuring stakeholder alignment are critical to success. The successful candidate will develop and execute a communications plan, provide status updates to varied audiences (craft, supervision, area leadership, and support functions), and drive alignment on scope, schedule, risk, and cost throughout the event lifecycle.
