About The Position

Serve as a field-based maintenance operations specialist responsible for coordinating and overseeing vendor-performed maintenance and repair activities, supporting safe execution, quality completion, compliant documentation, improvement projects, and DR/CAPA-related actions in a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. You will work closely with maintenance and production teams to organize and schedule maintenance activities that optimize equipment availability and performance and to develop preventive maintenance strategies using data analysis to enhance overall maintenance effectiveness.

Requirements

Associate degree or equivalent certification and 6+ years' total work experience, including 3+ years in maintenance, reliability, or manufacturing operations within a regulated environment (pharmaceutical, biotech, food, or chemical).
Demonstrated experience coordinating or supervising contractor/vendor work activities in the field.
Hands-on familiarity with CMMS platforms (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo, Trims, or equivalent) for work order creation, updates, and closure.
Working understanding of GMP, OSHA, and environmental compliance requirements as they apply to maintenance activities in a pharmaceutical setting.
Knowledge of permit-to-work systems including hot work, confined space, LOTO, and line break permits.
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and job plans.
Strong communication and coordination skills to bridge planning, engineering, craft personnel, operations, and external vendors.
Field presence, situational awareness, attention to detail, and accountability to ensure work is completed to specification and properly documented.

Responsibilities

Review work orders, job plans, permits, and site readiness to confirm maintenance activities are properly prepared before execution.
Coordinate equipment downtime, operational clearances, and the staging of required parts, tools, and materials at the job site.
Lead pre-job safety briefings and verify all required permits, hazard controls, and crew understanding are in place before work begins.
Provide field oversight during execution to ensure work follows approved plans, procedures, safety standards, GMP requirements, and environmental expectations.
Serve as the primary field liaison among craft, operations, and engineering by monitoring progress, tracking labor and equipment status, and escalating issues or scope changes promptly.
Verify work is completed to specification, ensure permits and punch-list items are closed out, confirm equipment return to service, and complete accurate CMMS/work order documentation.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and small maintenance improvement projects by coordinating field execution, tracking actions, and helping implement changes that improve equipment reliability, work execution, safety, and compliance.
Support deviation, DR, and CAPA activities by gathering field information, assisting with investigations, documenting maintenance-related actions, and helping ensure corrective and preventive actions are completed effectively and on time.
