About The Position

We are looking for a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to organize and schedule maintenance activities to optimize equipment availability and performance. This role involves prioritizing maintenance tasks, coordinating resources, and ensuring the availability of necessary materials and spare parts. You will work closely with maintenance and production teams to develop preventive maintenance strategies and use data analysis to enhance overall maintenance effectiveness. The primary focus is to plan, schedule, and coordinate maintenance, repair, and calibration activities on site to ensure work is executed safely, reliably, and efficiently in compliance with standard operating procedures. This role aims to improve workforce productivity and quality through effective coordination of work scope, duration, parts, materials, equipment, suppliers, maintenance resources, production, and engineering.

Requirements

Associate degree or equivalent certification with extensive work experience, or Bachelor’s degree with significant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in maintenance planning and scheduling.
Expert knowledge of maintenance, calibration, and repair procedures, pharmaceutical plant operations, equipment schematics, manuals, procedures, and process and instrumentation diagrams to support effective maintenance planning, work scoping, scheduling, and plant shutdown execution.
Documented knowledge of cGMPs, ISO standards, and industry best practices.
Experience in maintenance planning, work scoping, scheduling, turnaround coordination, and project management, including defining materials, labor, duration, tools, equipment, supplier, and area requirements for maintenance activities.
Proficiency in SAP and strong computer skills, including MS Office, MS Project, and MS Access.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence effectively across manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, and production functions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills combined with strong planning, scheduling, organizational, and prioritization skills.
Ability to shift priorities, manage multiple activities simultaneously, and perform effectively under pressure while meeting schedule commitments.

Nice To Haves

Professional certification in a planning/scheduling field (for example, PMI-SP, AACE-CST, AACE-PSP, IFMA-CFM, IFMA-FMP).

Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and schedule maintenance, repair, and calibration work by researching, scoping, and estimating labor, duration, materials, parts, tools, equipment, and external supplier requirements; prepare work order packages and maintain related SAP records.
Coordinate spare parts and material readiness for planned, unplanned, and shutdown activities in close collaboration with the Maintenance Spare Parts group, including requisition creation and maintenance of BOMs and component lists.
Develop, coordinate, track, and communicate plant shutdown and turnaround plans and schedules together with the Turnaround Manager, including progress updates and identification of critical path impacts, delays, acceleration, and compression opportunities.
Coordinate and level maintenance resources across all site crafts and external vendors to support effective execution of planned work and alignment with site priorities.
Ensure safety is fully integrated into maintenance planning and scheduling by defining safe work procedures, best practices, PPE, tools, equipment, and area requirements.
Partner with Maintenance Operations, Technical System Owners, Production, Engineering, and vendors to prioritize, plan, and schedule preventive, corrective, repair, and calibration maintenance activities.
Lead regular cross-functional meetings to establish short- and long-term priorities, coordinate routine maintenance and repair activities, and resolve resource or schedule conflicts.
Maintain complete and accurate SAP data for parts, labor, duration, notifications, maintenance plans, and work history to support execution excellence and continuous improvement of planning and scheduling accuracy.
