About The Position

Responsible for performing diversified duties to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment, apartment complexes and offices in the Baton Rouge, Lafayette or Lake Charles areas to assure safe and inviting properties and facilities for clients and staff. Perform manual labor and coordinate with contractors as needed.

Requirements

  • Any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform of the position.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
  • Must have skills in the use of a variety of hand and power tools

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose property and equipment problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
  • Perform highly diversified duties (including basic plumbing, electrical and carpentry) to install and maintain property and equipment
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on properties and provide emergency/unscheduled repairs when needed
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Follow written and verbal instructions and maintain effective working relationships with mangers/staff/clients and communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
  • Move furniture and equipment as needed (approved by Facilities Director)
  • Other duties as assigned
