About The Position

This position will support plant maintenance and operations as a subject matter expert for valve operation and applications. The position will be responsible to ensure strict adherence to the valve preventative maintenance/testing program and compliance with all applicable safety codes and company inspection/testing requirements. The plant valve specialist is required to monitor daily reporting for equipment needs and to provide input on repair solutions to ensure equipment/process reliability. This position is responsible for the coordination of valve specialty contractors as needed. The plant valve specialist is responsible for providing budget projections and working with plant system owners and financial analysts to ensure maintenance and capital plans are properly accounted for in the budget. Plant maintenance specialists may, at times, be subject to supporting additional areas of the plant if deemed necessary due to vacations, vacancies, or workload.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• Good understanding of power plant systems.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to appropriately prioritize, plan and manage multiple work activities simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently with no supervision or as a member of a team with direction, as required.
• Customer focused.

Nice To Haves

• Power plant or other industrial plant experience.
• Valve and actuator repair experience (from repair shop or plant experience).
• Valve diagnostics and troubleshooting experience.
• Power or industrial plant operations/maintenance experience, or specific maintenance experience.
• Experience implementing maintenance strategies and inspections on mechanical power plant equipment.
• Good working knowledge of various valve designs and their applications.
• Working knowledge of various mechanical equipment operation and maintenance.
• Basic understanding of plant electrical systems, instrumentation, and controls.

Responsibilities
