About The Position

The Maintenance Specialist II is responsible for performing work in the trades of electricity, carpentry, plumbing, and general maintenance with a high degree of proficiency. This role supports operations and property management within a residential setting, assisting individuals with disabilities and performing commercial site maintenance as needed. The position requires the ability to work independently using a tablet and CMMS software, manage an agency credit card, and troubleshoot various maintenance issues.

Requirements

  • Two (2) or more years’ experience in electricity, carpentry, plumbing, and general maintenance or a license in one field.
  • Ability to perform physical labor with unrestricted ability to lift.
  • A valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to agency insurance carrier.

Nice To Haves

  • High school graduate or an equivalency diploma preferred.
  • Experience in a multi-location and diversified maintenance setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively perform work in the trades of electricity, carpentry, plumbing, and general maintenance with a high degree of proficiency.
  • Accomplish a high level of general maintenance repair including floor coverings, masonry, patching, painting, taping and installation of drywall, downspout and minor shingle repair, acoustical ceilings, fabrication, H.V.A.C.’s and boiler service.
  • Assist in minor electrical and plumbing jobs to code and learn from management on detailed electrical and plumbing tasks.
  • Work with Maintenance Specialist 3’s and the Management Team on projects, taking direction and following through independently with limited supervision.
  • Troubleshoot while on the jobsite and complete most tasks encountered.
  • Perform ground maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Work independently on a tablet or mobile devices using the CMMS software to complete work orders, attach pictures, scan out supplies, and check item age and history by scanning appliance and asset codes.
  • Carry and utilize an agency credit card and use banking software weekly to timely add receipts and dollar amounts to each billing entity product is purchased for.
  • Work in a Residential setting and support individuals with disabilities in creating a safe and comfortable living environment, while assisting in commercial site maintenance when needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
