About The Position
This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing public safety radio communications equipment. The work requires travel to various locations throughout Alaska, often to remote areas, utilizing ATVs, snowmachines, and helicopters. Responsibilities include climbing towers, servicing generators, programming radios, and performing some landscaping tasks. Technicians work collaboratively in a close-knit team to maintain a reliable network for Public Safety, DOT, and other state agencies.
Requirements
- Ability to work confidently at heights of up to 300 feet
- Capability of climbing towers
- Self-motivated
- Able to follow instructions
- Enthusiastic about learning
- Must be able/willing to fly in small aircraft to include helicopters
- Must submit to a fingerprint based criminal history background check
- Must read, understand, and agree to a confidentiality agreement
