About The Position

To perform a variety of maintenance and repair work essential to the functioning of large building systems to include operation, monitoring, adjustment and repair; and to perform related duties as assigned. All position openings will be in the Lane County Jail Facility. The Sheriff's Office, committed to justice and integrity, is sworn to protect and honored to serve the residents and visitors of Lane County. The Sheriff’s Office provides an array of correctional services including a jail, a community corrections center (work-release), and out-of-custody programs such as community service and an inmate work crew. Lane County covers over 4,600 square miles and is nearly the size of the state of Connecticut. Nearly 300 staff, along with many volunteers, support these services and utilizes land, marine, air and other assets to maximize our response capability.

Requirements

• Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
• Two years of responsible building maintenance experience, preferably with large building systems; including minor carpentry, electrical, plumbing and HVAC repair is desirable.
• Must be in possession of a valid driver's license at the time of application, and a valid Oregon Driver's license by time of appointment.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
• Successful completion of an interview.
• Successful completion of a background investigation.
• Successful completion of a medical examination with a drug screen and TB test.

Nice To Haves

• Additional specialized training in plumbing, electrical or HVAC is desirable.
