This role's primary purpose is to service company trucks and forklifts at the Boise shop and other company locations.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge and experience with hydraulic systems, gas engines, diesel engines, electrical systems, drive trains, and various hand tools.
  • Ability to learn to operate all types of vehicles and equipment.
  • Possess a master tool set.
  • Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and other related state and federal regulations.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and vehicle parts.
  • Basic typing, writing skills, and computer competency.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Commitment to personal development and staying current within the field of work.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and multitask with finesse.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to obtain a commercial driver's license.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a company-acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of a one-year degree in heavy truck and/or equipment mechanics at the vocational level is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience working in heavy truck and forklift mechanics in the field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Service and repair company trucks and forklifts, ensuring adherence to established standards and specifications.
  • Utilize hand and power tools effectively to perform maintenance tasks.
  • Follow up to ensure all maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and meets quality standards.
  • Comply with established company safety and operating rules and procedures.
  • Inventory parts are maintained and used in the shop facility, ensuring adequate stock levels for ongoing operations.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on equipment and vehicles as needed, keeping detailed written records of all maintenance and repair activities for billing purposes.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment to protect self and others.
  • Collaborate with counterparts in other maintenance shops to streamline processes and share best practices.
  • Work with individual operators to understand and resolve complaints and concerns regarding vehicle/equipment maintenance and operation.
  • Effectively communicate with customers and coworkers, providing accurate, meaningful, courteous, and timely responses to questions or concerns.
  • Travel overnight to other locations as required.
