About The Position

QSAC is a New York City and Long Island based nonprofit that supports children and adults with autism, together with their families, in achieving greater independence, realizing their future potential, and contributing to their communities in a meaningful way by offering person-centered services. QSAC pursues this mission through direct services that provide a supportive and individualized setting for children and adults with autism to improve their communication, socialization, academic and functional skills. If you are a skilled and handy maintenance worker who demonstrates safety, dedication and follow-through then we would like to talk to you! QSAC is looking for a skilled and seasoned maintenance worker who has hands-on experience in maintenance trades that include, but are not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, general woodworking, various repairs, wall installation, painting and minor internal construction. The Maintenance office is based in Jamaica, Queens, but travel to other locations is required. Vehicle will be provided for travel to programs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED, preferred
  • Must have valid Driver's License with excellent driving history
  • Requires the ability to read, write and communicate effectively with others in English language

Nice To Haves

  • hands-on experience in maintenance trades that include, but are not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, general woodworking, various repairs, wall installation, painting and minor internal construction.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily shop operations (tools/supplies), including inventory, ordering, receiving and tracking
  • Manage inventory accuracy and maintain organized stock levels.
  • Supervise daily tool/equipment sign outs
  • Manage supply/parts orders, deliveries, pick ups and returns.
  • Conduct cycle counts and assist with regular inventory audits.
  • Monitor tool/equipment movement and report inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness, organization, and safety standards.
  • Ensure all tools, equipment, supplies and materials are properly labeled, stored, and handled.
  • Inspect tools and equipment for operational safety
  • Manage equipment repairs and tool replacements with approval
  • Review incoming deliveries for accuracy and report damages or shortages.
  • Help improve shop processes for better efficiency and productivity.
  • Assist in development of tool and supply inventory tracking
  • Experience in Google Docs & Excel
  • Experience in construction trades and materials/tools/parts used
  • Ability to diagnose and repair small engines 2/4 stroke and minor equipment electrical repairs
  • Ability to replace blades etc on grinders, saws, sanders and perform minor maintenance/service on shop vacs, dollies, hand trucks etc.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and shop safety procedures.
