About The Position

We have an immediate opening for one full-time position, as well as a short-term opportunity (2–3 months). This role involves providing excellent customer service from intake to release of vehicle, listening carefully to drivers’ descriptions and assessing the vehicle to determine the best repair plan, and communicating with the Parts Department and technicians to ensure all necessary parts are on hand. The Service Writer will also maintain records by keeping all files organized, analyze operating problems effectively, and develop effective courses of action. Experience working with fleets and computer literacy are essential.

Requirements

Two (2) years’ experience as a Service Writer
Experience working with fleets
Must be computer literate
Must be reliable
Must work efficiently on team
Must have positive attitude
Good communication skills
Must be able to stand long periods of time, kneel, push, and pick up items up to 50 lbs
Must pass 7-year background check and ongoing drug screening
Must pass a physical examination

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service from intake to release of vehicle, and perform any additional follow up
Listen carefully to drivers’ descriptions and assess the vehicle to determine the best repair plan
Communicate with Parts Department and technicians to make sure everything needed is on hand
Maintain records by keeping all files organized
Analyze operating problems effectively and develop effective courses of action
Identify services needed
Clarification of driver complaints
Preparation of repair work order (RO)
Dispatching (RO) to technicians and communicating
Maintaining drivers informed of repairs and estimated times
Perform proper hood checks
Transportation of vehicle when needed
Perform pre-inspection
Administration of meter seal appointments
Daily lot walks to ensure every hard-down vehicle is noted on the rear window with expected repair or part
