About The Position

The Lutheran Community at Telford is hiring Part-Time Maintenance / Security Technicians for the 3:00pm - 11:00pm shift, working every other Saturday and Sunday. This role is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of residents, employees, and the facility. The Lutheran Community at Telford has been providing exceptional services for seniors in Bucks and Montgomery Counties since 1962, offering a full continuum of care. Requirements

  • High School diploma and/or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 months previous security experience.
  • Must be able to speak and read the English language in an understandable manner.
  • Must have ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from residents and the general public.
  • Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year previous security experience in a retirement community or similar.
  • Valid PA Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Make rounds of the facility ensuring all doors and windows are secure.
  • Monitor camera activity as directed.
  • Direct visitors to their desired location.
  • Record routine activities on the departmental log.
  • Report any unusual occurrences to the supervisor.
  • Serve as the contact person to call the police.
  • Diffuse situations that may arise so as not to escalate and become uncontrolled.
  • Serve as property contact person for all environmental services issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled by supervisor.
  • Shovel and salt main entrances and sidewalks during an event according to the Snow Removal Policy to maintain a clear path for emergencies.
  • Perform daily tasks such as collecting all trash and turning off/on lights.
  • Assist residents with light maintenance requests (e.g., clogged toilet, light bulb replacement).
  • Maintain high standards by picking up trash, ensuring lights are functioning, and keeping vehicles clean.
  • Respond to all alarms (medical or fire) and assist with fire and emergency evacuation drills.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork on a daily basis.
  • Perform routine duties including package deliveries, bulb replacements, work orders, and miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Properly maintain and store all tools and equipment and keep workshop clean and orderly.
  • Follow all department policies and procedures, including proper use of all PPE issued.
  • Attend all departmental meetings and required facility in-services.
  • Assume other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as directed by on-call person or Director of Maintenance.
