About The Position

The Scheduler/CMMS’s main duties will include but are not limited to KPI Maintenance, Downtime Reporting, CMMS maintenance scheduling, and parts kitting for the Roseburg Studmill. This position will have the complete CMMS process assigned to them, including printing PMs, assigning them, collecting finished PMs, entering needed work, ordering parts, and ensuring PMs are correct and up to date. The individual will be responsible for scheduling all maintenance tasks, including daily work assignments based on millwright follow-up notes, PMs, and generated work orders. They will assign work based on direction from leadership and schedule longer maintenance windows between shifts in the sawmill and at the Planer, as well as weekend work. This person is responsible for approximately seventy-five percent of parts ordering based on maintenance needs or PM results. They will also be responsible for kitting parts for each maintenance window and project, ensuring all parts are available prior to the start of work. The role involves facilitating maintenance activities using preventative and predictive maintenance, ensuring plant machinery is in condition for 100% run time, and supporting company safety policies. The individual will work with the maintenance crew, supervisor, director, and outside vendors, be a member of the site’s safety committee, monitor and report maintenance performance, support safety efforts, requisition tools and supplies, provide feedback to maintenance personnel, and troubleshoot issues to reduce downtime. Non-essential functions include coordinating with the electrical department and assisting with cleanup responsibilities in the old planer building and bone yard.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license for the state of Oregon
  • Ability to operate company forklifts
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Communicate with co-worker’s face to face, via radio, email, and telephone.

  • Always use 14 step lockout/tagout procedure before doing any maintenance, clearing jams, or getting into machinery for any reason: be aware of stored energy.
  • Always use proper body mechanics (ex: do not overreach, get help as needed to push loads out).
  • Use proper PPE (gloves, eye protection, hearing protection).
  • Be aware of and always communicate with your co-workers (ex: forklift driver).
  • It is a requirement to read and write during safety training.

  • Bend, twist, squat, push/pull using waist, shoulders, arms, hands, and wrists to manipulate a variety of tools.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete CMMS process, including printing PMs, assigning them, collecting finished PMs, entering needed work, and ordering parts.
  • Ensure PMs are correct and up to date, reflecting the mill site’s current and future needs.
  • Schedule all maintenance tasks, including daily work assignments based on millwright follow-up notes, PMs, and generated work orders.
  • Assign work based on direction from maintenance leadership.
  • Schedule longer maintenance windows between shifts in the sawmill for Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
  • Schedule the longer maintenance window at the Planer for Wednesday afternoon.
  • Schedule weekend work.
  • Order approximately seventy-five percent of parts needed for maintenance.
  • Kit parts for each maintenance window and project, ensuring all parts are available prior to the start of work.
  • Facilitate maintenance activities in the plant utilizing preventative and predictive maintenance.
  • Ensure plant machinery is in a condition to attain 100% run time.
  • Support and promote all company safety policies for lockout/tagout, personal protective equipment, hazardous materials handling, and SHARP compliance.
  • Work directly with the maintenance crew, maintenance supervisor, maintenance director, and outside vendors to provide seamless transition from project status to operating status of each project assigned.
  • Be a productive member of the site’s safety committee.
  • Monitor and report maintenance performance to maintenance director.
  • Support and participate in all company safety efforts.
  • Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
  • Provide honest and timely feedback to maintenance personnel through informal daily communications.
  • Troubleshoot issues and problem solve to reduce downtime.
  • Coordinate with the electrical department on any work which impacts them or work they are performing which impacts the millwrights.
  • Work with the maintenance supervisor on cleanup responsibilities, including the old planer building and bone yard.
  • Ensure that any material placed in the old planer building that is not a valid spare part is either placed in the metal bin, thrown away, or kept in the bone yard.
  • Monitor the bone yard with the maintenance supervisor to coordinate the removal of outdated and non-used material.
