About The Position

The Maintenance Sales Rep is responsible for meeting annual sales (booking) goals within an assigned territory using company-approved pricing. This role involves identifying new prospects, delivering sales presentations, managing quotes, growing existing accounts, and understanding customer needs and decision-making processes. The position also requires inspecting mechanical systems, reading technical drawings, applying pricing policies, and maintaining strong customer and internal relationships. Additionally, the role involves administrative tasks such as reporting, proposal preparation, and supporting internal staff and external vendors.

Requirements

  • Meet annual sales (booking) goals within an assigned territory.
  • Achieve at least 10x annual salary in weighted bookings (after initial training).
  • Qualify prospects.
  • Deliver strong sales presentations.
  • Handle objections professionally.
  • Aggressively manage quotes through to closed sales.
  • Identify new prospects in the assigned market.
  • Follow up promptly on leads and referrals.
  • Build rapport with customers.

  • Keep a steady pipeline of active quotes.
  • Grow existing accounts by expanding maintenance coverage or add-on services.
  • Inspect and evaluate mechanical systems to determine needed repairs, upgrades, or maintenance.
  • Read technical drawings.
  • Assess job/equipment conditions.
  • Apply company pricing policies accurately.
  • Respond quickly to customer concerns.
  • Maintain long-term relationships.
  • Understand customer decision-making processes.
  • Guide customers toward a decision timetable.
  • Manage price increase conversations.
  • Handle contract cancellation/salvage situations.
  • Understand credit and collections policies.
  • Help resolve payment issues.
  • Prepare clear, timely reports, proposals, and required paperwork.
  • Support internal relationships with office, field, and management staff.
  • Build productive relationships with outside vendors and partners.
  • Participate in vendor selection and purchasing when relevant.
  • Take on special projects as assigned by a manager.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Represent the company well externally.
