About The Position

This position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance tasks, completing daily logs, and providing backup coverage to the area supervisor. The role involves acting as a floater to all Health Centers as needed, assisting with fire drills and safety inspections, and making first contact with requestors to complete maintenance tasks within two business days. The Maintenance Repairman will also liaise with contractors, confer with center managers about projects, and submit preventive maintenance logs monthly. Additionally, the role requires completing mandatory training, making purchases, submitting timesheets accurately, and performing other related duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office, Outlook, and basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of skilled building trades or mechanical repair work.
  • Skilled in using tools and equipment in maintenance and repair work.
  • Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs, climb a ladder, reach overhead, work from heights, bend at the waist, kneel and crouch.
  • Ability to work near loud noises and electrical equipment, work in tight spaces, on rooftops.
  • Ability to work prolonged periods of time walking, bending, and standing and exerting force frequently.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds. When items are more than 50 pounds staff are recommended to take the necessary measures to lift properly and ask for assistance. For items over 50 pounds, contact your direct supervisor.
  • Ability to perform a variety of skilled trade functions.
  • Ability to take accurate measurements and to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Valid Florida Driver's license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment
  • 1 year of experience in safely using hand and power tools
  • 1 year of experience in performing preventive maintenance on equipment and buildings

Responsibilities

  • Performs preventive maintenance tasks and completes daily logs.
  • Provide backup coverage to area supervisor in the absence of the staff or in an emergency and work as a floater to all Health Centers as and when needed.
  • Help in conducting fire drills and safety inspections to all Health Centers.
  • Make first contact with requestor and complete requested maintenance tasks within 2 business days (parts and supplies allowing).
  • Liaison with contractors at all centers to ensure contract specifications are met and confers with center managers about projects spanning for all the centers.
  • Completes and submits preventive maintenance log monthly via email, by fifth business day of next month.
  • Documents and completes unlogged tasks on calendar.
  • Completes mandatory training within first 3 months of the start of the rating period.
  • Make purchases and provide purchasing department receipts within two business days.
  • Provides a written monthly update (by center) on possible maintenance issues or projects that may be needed.
  • Submits timesheets in an accurate and timely manner (by close of business, end of pay period).
  • Perform other related duties as needed.
