About The Position
The Maintenance Repairman 2 position with the Department of Human Services, Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services, offers a hands-on role that keeps the Loysville Youth Development Center running smoothly. This job lets you use your trade skills in many areas and grow your experience each day. Your work will help maintain a safe, dependable, and well-functioning environment. This position supports the upkeep and long-term maintenance of buildings and grounds across the youth development center system. The work involves skilled tasks in multiple trades and contributes to a safe and well-maintained environment.
Requirements
- Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
- Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities
- Must be in possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License
- Must meet the PA residency requirement
- Must be able to perform essential job functions
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination
- A conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance
Responsibilities
- Perform carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, masonry, and related repair tasks
- Operate and maintain tools, machinery, and vehicles needed for daily work
- Repair fixtures, install materials, maintain systems, and support facility upkeep
- Complete lawn care, snow removal, and other outdoor maintenance duties
- Follow regulations, maintain tool accountability, and report missing items immediately
