Requirements

• Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
• Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities
• Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License
• Maintain favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap
• Ability to perform essential job functions
• Submission of criminal history reports (conditional offer of employment)

Nice To Haves

• Formal training in a skilled building, electrical, or mechanical trade
• Experience in commercial carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC trades
• Experience in commercial and structural maintenance of buildings and equipment
• Experience with 3-phase wiring including emergency generators, Automatic Transfer Switches, switch gears, and 3-phase panels
• Experience with domestic hot water mixing valves, recirculating loops, aqua stats, and instantaneous water heaters
• Experience with the provisions of Life Safety Codes and Uniform Construction Code (UCC) as it relates to repair of buildings
• Structural experience in the maintenance or repair of buildings

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces and complete interior and exterior painting tasks
• Maintain and repair fixtures, piping, valves, drains, and water systems
• Perform general carpentry including flooring, drywall patching, and minor renovations
• Install circuits, replace components, monitor systems, and diagnose electrical issues
• Service ventilation, heating, cooling, and automated control systems
• Perform cleaning duties, grounds work, snow removal, and general building care
