About The Position

The Maintenance Technician 1, 3rd Shift will support the Maintenance Department, under direction from the Maintenance Supervisor to conduct preventative maintenance orders and test and repair malfunctioning equipment throughout the Plant. Test and repair malfunctioning production equipment/machinery and notifies appropriate personnel. Install equipment, machines, or programs to meet specifications. Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine what maintenance is needed. Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, and precision instruments. Assemble and install equipment using hand and power tools. Use welding skills/equipment (TIG, Stick, Torch) to fabricate and repair chutes, conveyors, hoppers, etc. Demonstrate high level of mechanical aptitude and must possess the knowledge of timing of cams and gears, how to set backlash, replace bushings. Understand hydraulic principles, pneumatic principles etc. Maintain current knowledge and actively addresses safety and environmental issues. Other duties may include janitorial, plumbing, pipefitting, painting, security, carpentry. Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3-5 years maintenance experience required
  • Commitment to personal and organizational safety principles and practices
  • Ability to complete basic mathematical calculations
  • Forklift truck experience required
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and safety documentations
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to complete routine PM documents
  • Understanding of and compliance with safety rules and regulations
  • Ability to navigate CMMS software
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree from a technical college preferred
  • Apprenticeship or Journeyman experience preferred
  • Microsoft office competency a plus
  • Internal drive and interest in personal development
