Maintenance Repair & Overhaul Intern (Summer 2027) (Onsite)
About The Position
Pratt & Whitney's Mechanical System, Externals & Nacelles Module Center Engineering (MSEN) organization has openings for Internships as a Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) Engineer. The primary function of this position is to perform as an onsite engineering liaison representing Pratt & Whitney in front of our military customers. The MRO Engineering Intern will support the overhaul and repair process for MSEN hardware across the Pratt & Whitney’s family of Military Engines at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma City. This position is a key role in the global sustainment effort as it provides a direct engineering link with our domestic and foreign military customers. As a Maintenance Repair & Overhaul Intern at Pratt & Whitney you will... Work as the onsite Engineering representative of P&W supporting engine/hardware investigations and dispositions. Create Technical Substantiation Packages (TSP) for non-conforming hardware analysis. Assist in part inspections to recover hardware in inventory. Monitor and trend hardware health for limit updates, Component Improvement Program (CIP) and repair tasks activities. Provide assistance to Customer Support Engineering (CSE) and base personnel with field support, quality issues and logistics planning. Work in a customer-facing role. What You Will Learn Experience with Mechanical components and Externals plumbing systems products. Procedural knowledge associated with the aftermarket sustainment and overhaul of military engines. Military customer and P&W leadership engagement opportunities (Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT), System Integrated Product Team (SIPT), Integrated Program Management Team (IPMT). Requirements
- Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or an Engineering field and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship session.
- Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship session.
- Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA
- Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects
Nice To Haves
- Pursuing a degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
- Experience demonstrating communication, presentation, leadership, and organizational skills in professional and team‑based environments.
- Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.
