About The Position

The MRO Manager develops and executes the Maintenance, Repair, and Operations procurement strategy supporting manufacturing, warehouse, project, and facility operations. The role leads MRO process standardization, supplier programs, inventory solutions, and procurement technology while ensuring critical indirect materials, tools, safety supplies, and services are available when needed.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of MRO procurement, indirect materials, supplier management, and inventory practices.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional projects and translate operational needs into practical sourcing and supply solutions.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, e-procurement tools, KPI reporting, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to establish standard processes, manage competing priorities, and drive accountability.
  • 5 years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, MRO, inventory management, operations, or supply chain.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial fabrication, modular construction, or a comparable operating environment.
  • Experience with supplier negotiations, process improvement, inventory planning, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience using ERP systems and performing spend or operational data analysis.
  • Prior leadership, team-lead, or project-lead experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience implementing punch-out catalogs, procurement technology, industrial vending, or point-of-use inventory programs.
  • Experience in data centers, engineer-to-order, or make-to-order manufacturing environments.
  • Infor LN experience.
  • CPSM, CPM, CSCP, or APICS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the company-wide MRO procurement strategy, aligning priorities with operational needs and future growth.
  • Standardize MRO purchasing processes, approved buying channels, and operating procedures across facilities and warehouses.
  • Implement and expand ERP punch-out catalogs and other e-procurement solutions with strategic MRO suppliers.
  • Drive user adoption of preferred catalogs and reduce emergencies, off-contract, and non-compliant purchases.
  • Partner with Warehouse Management to establish stocking, replenishment, point-of-use, and industrial vending programs.
  • Analyze demand, spend, and inventory consumption to improve availability, utilization, and working-capital control.
  • Develop preferred supplier programs; lead supplier negotiations, performance reviews, and service improvements.
  • Identify supplier consolidation, cost savings, cost avoidance, and process-efficiency opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing Managers on category strategies, supplier qualification, risk mitigation, and business continuity.
  • Engage Manufacturing, Warehouse, Field Service, Project Execution, and Operations leaders to forecast MRO requirements.
  • Support facility expansions, warehouse startups, and operational transitions with defined procurement and supply plans.
  • Serve as the escalation point for critical MRO supply, service, and availability issues.
  • Develop KPI reporting for spending, savings, supplier performance, inventory utilization, service levels, and catalog adoption.
  • Lead and develop two MRO Buyers/Coordinators through clear goals, workload planning, standard work, and accountability.
  • Promote a culture of ownership, responsiveness, internal customer service, and continuous improvement.
  • Any other duties assigned by TAS.
