About The Position

At Qnity, we are a global leader in materials and solutions for advanced electronics and high-tech industries. We are seeking a Maintenance & Reliability Mechanic to join our ACST site in Hayward, California. This role is responsible for performing routine and non-routine maintenance on the site's manufacturing and process equipment, including chemical transfer systems, utilities, PLCs, and mechanical and electrical systems. The position involves coordinating and executing troubleshooting efforts and collaborating with operations and engineers to implement improvements for day-to-day site operations. The shift is either 5am - 1:30pm or 11:30am - 8:00pm, with the ability to work weekends and either day or evening shifts.

Requirements

A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED or equivalent is required.
Minimum 2+ years' experience in a Maintenance role, relevant professional work (electronics, maintenance, computers) or military experience, is preferred.
Experience with mechanical maintenance on pumps, valves etc. is required.
E&I - Electrical and Instrumentation preferred.
Must be willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include; equipment such as hearing protection, gloves, safety glasses, hardhats, respirators, and safety shoes when required.
While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to stand; walk (up and down stairs); twist; bend; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or climb for extended periods of time; and will require the ability to lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
Knowledge of power tool safe handling.
Ability to wear a respirator.
Able to work in confined areas.

Nice To Haves

A 2-year technical/vocational degree in a related field is strongly preferred.
Forklift driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform routine and non-routine maintenance activities on manufacturing and process equipment.
Perform maintenance in the areas of chemical transfer systems, utilities, PLCs, and mechanical and electrical systems.
Coordinate and execute troubleshooting efforts.
Implement improvements with operations and engineers.
Work with a variety of team members including other mechanics, operators, and engineers.
