About The Position

The Maintenance Professional performs and assists with maintenance services and repairs for the Center for Disability Services’ facilities and equipment. The work includes preventative maintenance and tasks involving plumbing, carpentry, painting, sheet rocking, machine servicing, electrical work, grounds, cleaning, snow removal, vehicle maintenance, and furniture moving. The role supports the safety, functionality, and comfort of individuals served, staff, and visitors, with a focus on quality workmanship. The position is based at the agency’s offices in Albany, New York, and shares responsibility for the maintenance on-call system.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
A NYS driver’s license in good standing.
At least 2 years of job-related experience, specifically in facilities management and building trades.
Ability to follow directions and communicate.
Ability to perform simple math functions and knowledge of basic weights and measures.

Specialized training, license, certification, and/or skills preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform and assist with maintenance service and repairs, including preventative maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, painting, sheet rocking, machine servicing, electrical work, groundskeeping, cleaning, snow removal, vehicle maintenance, and furniture moving.
Assist workers and perform maintenance tasks on equipment and facilities.
Provide labor and skills focused on quality workmanship and the safety, functionality, and comfort of individuals supported, staff, and visitors.
Prepare, compile, track, and file daily work orders, supply house packing slips, and invoices for supplies.
Share responsibility for the maintenance on-call system.
Perform other duties as assigned.
