About The Position

This position performs skilled plumbing maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting work on City facilities under the supervision of the Assistant Construction Manager.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
10 years of plumbing experience.
Ability to receive a BPAT license.
Ability to receive Customer Service Inspections for new and existing services.
Must possess a valid Texas class "C" driver's license or higher.
Knowledge of computer software and programs.
Ability to adapt to new technology, new methods and changing conditions.
Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, or sit for long periods of time.
Ability to lift weights of 50 pounds alone and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Ability to climb in and out of confined areas.
Ability to climb heights greater than 100 feet.
Must pass background check and pre-employment substance abuse screening as a condition of employment.
A motor vehicle record check and job-related doctor's physical exam may also be required.

Nice To Haves

Master Plumber License preferred.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, repair, and replace water supply, sanitary waste, vent, fixture, and related plumbing systems according to plans, codes, and specifications.
Diagnose plumbing system problems, leaks, stoppages, pressure issues, fixture failures, and other plumbing deficiencies in City facilities.
Provide and maintain temporary plumbing and water service needs for City events and facilities when required.
Communicate with vendors, management, contractors and the public in a professional manner.
Understand and enforce City of Conroe and Departmental policies and procedures.
Understand and follow written and oral instructions.
Obtain certifications/licenses to perform work assignments.
Make decisions in the absence of Superintendent.
Respond at any hour during an emergency when requested.
Work as many hours as needed to get the work assigned completed.
Understand engineer drawings.
