About The Position

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Maintenance Plumber – Level 3 to join our team in Redondo Beach, CA. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. The Maintenance Plumber performs installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plumbing, water, gas, steam, and drainage systems in industrial and commercial facilities. This role ensures the safe and reliable operation of facility plumbing systems by diagnosing issues, replacing fixtures, and maintaining compliance with applicable codes and standards. This position will work 2nd shift.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance
Ability to understand various piping systems (air, steam, water, and gas systems)
Ability to inspect, identify, and provide solutions to repair systems
Experience using basic plumbing tools (such as basin wrench, pipe wrench, compression sleeve puller, drain auger, tongue-and-groove pliers, etc)

Nice To Haves

Active DOD Secret Clearance
Large/Multi-Site Facilities plumbing experience
Certified in backflow

Responsibilities

Determine defects in, repair, and maintain heating, water, and drainage systems in industrial or commercial establishments.
Inspects high-pressure, air, steam, water, and gas systems to ascertain malfunctions
Repairs or replaces plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, water heaters, and hot water tanks.
Replaces washers
Mends or replaces burst or leaky pipes
Tests joints and pipe systems for leaks
Opens clogged drains
Measures, cuts, threads, bends, reams, and installs pipe and pipe fittings
Uses plumbers' tools such as snakes, wrenches, plungers, pipe threaders, etc.
Maintains knowledge of local codes.
