About The Position

As the Maintenance Planner, you are responsible for implementing a mandated, preventative, and predictive maintenance program for multiple pieces of equipment and infrastructure in government owned buildings and provincial properties. We count on your industry expertise, along with your strong organization and planning abilities to keep our team on track; all the while striving to minimize unplanned downtime and identifying opportunities for improvement. You will work often with various other Public Works divisions to synchronize and share building equipment life cycle data, condition index, and maintenance history.

Requirements

  • High School completion plus four (4) years of related work experience in the facilities maintenance management field.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge of building construction and maintenance including, but not limited to, architectural, electrical and mechanical systems/components;
  • Experience utilizing computers, web-based databases, applications, and planning software; and
  • Proficiency working with Microsoft Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of government procurement policy and tendering procedures
  • Basic knowledge of budgets and project management principles
  • Familiarity with SAP, database management, and Primavera and/or Microsoft Project

Responsibilities

  • Provide essential support to the development and implementation of a 12-week maintenance schedule which will be utilized by our operations and maintenance staff.
  • Planning and developing work schedules and resources using the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS);
  • Co-ordinating and scheduling Preventive and Reactive maintenance;
  • Managing backlog in CMMS by conducting analysis and recommending solutions to the Maintenance Planning Specialist; and
  • Monitoring and reporting on condition trends of building mechanical, electrical, and architectural components.
